The Town of Northwood has three public beaches open to residents. Beaches are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Water is tested and monitored by the Health Officer. When elevated levels of E. coli bacteria are present, there will be notices posted at the entrance to the waterfront. Also, click here to see the NH DES Current Advisories page. Lifeguards The Recreation Department staffs the beaches with lifeguards as scheduling permits. Upon arrival at the beach take notice of the location of the lifeguard on duty. Lifeguards employed by the Town will always be dressed in a uniform that clearly identifies the individual as a lifeguard (bathing suit, sweatshirt, hat, t-shirts will all be marked using the universal "GUARD" marking) Beaches are equipped with signage to indicate the status of Lifeguards. Hours 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM All town beaches will close at 8:30 PM. Individuals occupying the beaches or on beach premises after 8:30 PM will be subject to fines and appropriate law enforcement. Resident Passes All Northwood property owners/renters are required to obtain a beach pass (transfer station pass) from the Town Hall before using any of the town beaches. There are no fees for Northwood residents to use the beaches. Water Safety Reminders
